My Bio

Will Hammond started his music career in elementary school, attending the Cathedral School for Boys and singing in the Grace Cathedral Choir of Men and Boys. Once he graduated to high school he honed his craft at the Urban School of San Francisco, performing and singing in various plays under the direction of Ellen Sebastian (Life on the Water Theater) and George Coates. During college, he wrote and arranged the smash hit “Hold You Tight” performed by Tara Kemp on the Warner Bros. label. The song went to #3 on the Billboard Pop and R&B charts and went to become a certified gold record with 800,000 units sold. His professional career has also been in writing for theater productions and sound design, working on “Flow” by Luminating Works, “Trucker Rhapsody” by playwright Toni-Press Coffman and “To Hades and Back” by Katherine Murphy. Will has also composed the score for the play “The Seven” by playwright Will Power, a hip-hop rendition of Aeschylus’ greek tragedy “Seven Against Thebes” which will be premiering off-Broadway in the fall of 2005 at the New York Theatre Workshop.

Currently, he is teaching digital media and critical thinking skills at BAYCAT (Bayview Hunters Point Center for Arts & Technology) He produces a teen news & entertainment program called “Zoom In” in which the students learn to write, produce and edit a topic of their choice each semester.
