  • SPAM

You guys have any recommendation on anti-spam software? We on a Citrix w/TS and client-server environment. We are running our own email server. I can go ahead and install anti-spam on each pc but what about the staff using citrix for email. Is there one program to run on citrix for the rest of the staff? Thanks in advance.

  • RE: Leasing or purchasing

For server I think it make sense to lease because once the warranty on a server is gone. It isn''t very safe to have your agency data on it. I mean you can but are you willing to risk to down time in case some component goes down. Extended warranty cost as much as a new server. Also if you buy a power server what are you going to do with it

leasing is the way to go, funding for tech has been hell-o. Get top of the line server for 100/month. Easy to spread cost across programs. Make sure you get a backup devices and reliable backup/recovery software. Veritas aint bad. i highly recommend raid 5.

Here my recommendations but do what you like. Lease DELL servers 50-100/month w/3-4 years warranty. This way you free some $$ for other use and

  • RE: IT Strategy Question

whatever route you choose make sure there''s plenty of buy in from management and staff. keep plan flexible, you never know what''s going to happy tomorrow. once a plan is completed, chances are there will be funding out there. to counter some cash and depreciation limitations, we use dumb terminals and leasing our servers to free up

  • RE: Ordering MS software on DiscounTech

No limitation would be best. However what is given is appreciated and in good use. At the same time we are exploring Linuz and openoffice. It''s a long way but having to upgrade every few years with MS have been costing a lot and we just don''t have the $$ to exercise such desires. be well, hs
