• RE: Online Videos

To revive this topic... Our Agency has posted our training videos (HIPAA, etc) on Google Video with pretty good results. The records vary from 60 minutes to 90 minutes in length. The overall file size is 50MB so the upload takes a while. Google Video allowed us to choose if the video was public or private. Since there was nothing confidential about

  • Basic PDF Editor

I recently came upon this fantastic FREE product and wanted to share it with the community here: PDF-XCHANGE VIEWER (FREE) Our Agency is beginning to use it. It's perfect for filling in PDF forms downloaded from the government. I'm sure that many visitors here are used to printing the PDF forms and then putting them into a typewriter. Well,

  • Resumes and Recruiting software needed

I'm posting this message while creating an in-house system. Our HR person came to me and asked how we can electronically store the 100+ resumes we get each week. I've devised the outline of a custom system for our needs. ... BUT... Perhaps there is already something out there which will meet 90% of our needs? Here are our requirements: - Web

  • RE: installing new ram

I'm going to guess that you have two slots for RAM. One has clips on both ends and the other only has a clip at one end. And that's your dilemma. You can't buy those little clips anywhere. You may be able to ask a local computer shop if they have any old junk motherboards that you can get a clip from. Your memory, 3200, is compatible with

  • RE: Is Windows Terminal Server Right For Me?

It sounds to me like you'd benefit from Windows Terminal Server. If you qualify for products from TechStock you can get a large number of Client Access Licenses (CAL) for a reasonable fee. I recommend purchasing the licenses based on USER and *not* Computer. Especially since you'll have users from unknown computers connecting. Citrix was mentioned

  • RE: Network Topology Help

Something that nobody seems have have spent time on is: Why have a server at a secondary site for such a small organization? Unless you're running "mission critical" systems such as financial, confidential, and/or real-time stuff then I think one site with reliable and tested back ups is the most effective solution. I can offer my example here.

  • Source for educational software??

Has anyone here found a great resource for educational software? I've Googled and found places like Brightminds, EdResources and the like. I'm looking for personal experiences and "great deals" other than eBay. We're re-opening our facility for after school programs for children 5-10 years old. We've got the antique hardware Pentium

Update on PDF Editor with Windows XP Limited Account I confirmed with the author of the software which files need read/write access. They are ones which reside in the folder where PDF Editor was installed (chosen at installation time): translate.dbf pedfolders.dat and pedoptions

  • PDF Editor - alternative to Acrobat

I thought I'd pass along my experience with an alternative PDF editing program. It's from a German company. Here's their web site: http://www.cadkas.com/ And here's my story... In our Agency we generate paper reports. And they take up valuable storage space. Lots of it. I'm talking thousands of pages every year. These reports can

  • RE: Know of a good Web hosting provider?

I'll toss in my recommendation of http://www.1and1.com They're inexpensive and huge. Meaning they have quite a large infrastructure in place so you're less likely to have outages than if you go with a small hosting shop down the street. The one caveat I have to mention is that their interface isn't the most friendly but it's not
