  • Serialized Inventory control

Does anyone know of a program that would easily track the purchase and sale of inventory with serial numbers. Our school sells SCRIP cards(essentially gift cards) which we buy from the vendor (like Shell, AMEX, Peet's coffee...) and then sell to the parents. We need something easy to use that would allow us to quickly enter each cards serial number

  • RE: Online accounting and Donor Management

Depending on your budget, look at the Blackbaud products. Raisers Edge has full web access. It it fully integrated with the accounting side called the Financial Edge to reduce double entry and reconciliation issues. Jill jill@librissolutions.com

  • RE: Time Tracking software

Depending on your budget, you may want to look at Blackbaud's Financial Edge and the new payroll 7 module. The new version allows employee based time tracking to not only project, grants and endowments, but also service types (or position based) allocations that are particularly important for certain types of grant tracking. • RE: Databases

check out donor databases. Depending on your budget, there are a lot of solutions out there...Raisers' Edge (www.blackbaud.com) is one example. It's quite powerful, so depending on your needs, it might be overkill - but it's able to do a lot! Jill

  • RE: Need info on terminal services please

That was very helpful for me! Can you tell me, though, the free version that comes with XP, does it (or similar) also come with Windows2000Pro? Does this require a separate terminal server? or can a many to one access be set up strictly on the host machine that everyone wants access to?

  • RE: Membership Software

I've used both ACT and Goldmine. I definately prefer ACT. It was easy to install and start going. It downloaded all my existing contacts easily and I can even write custom reports using my Crystal Reports. The report writer in ACT is ok as well - you can alter reports. There are other things it can do, but we aren't using those features - maybe

A few additional bits of information to help the RE folks... The new SQL version makes the product much more flexible in terms of getting information out. You can write your own crystal reports which aids in eliminating an export to excel. Also, training options have increased. There are now local training classes given in major cities, computer brased

  • RE: WHY NOT HELP PUBLIC SCHOOLS

when our local public school needed computers, they sent a request home to all the parents in the weekly newletter. The parents then looked into the corporations where they work for donations. We ended up with many almost new computers, networking, and more. Many companies will donate their used computers when they upgrade. A used company computer is
