Just my two cents... I am an avowed Microsoft skeptic, but I have had no problems with Microsoft Security Essentials and Windows 7 so far (in fact, I really like W7). I'm not ready to switch from Ubuntu just yet, but Windows 7 has really impressed me and MSE seemed to be the best 64-bit solution for Windows 7 I could find that I didn't have

Agreed, please give us the exact error messages, although this sounds like a DNS issue to me; if you can hit the other devices by IP and not by name that sounds to me like DNS. Check all your DNS settings and your routes and see if anything wonky has occurred. Can you reach your other DC via IP?

That is extremely weird, though the fact that you can do it on Dells with the same card tells me it might be a software issue on the HPs. Try running a tracert to www.medicare.gov and see where the route dies, and check your firewall policies and hosts file and make sure www.medicare.gov isn't being blocked anywhere (who knows, maybe Microsoft and

I maintain a few Macs here and there

Hi Paul! I would use MP4CamAVI for this; it converts MPEG-4 to AVI without any loss. You can find it here ( http://sourceforge.net/projects/mp4cam2avi/)

I would check if there are any chipset or driver updates; also check that there are no bad drivers in device manager (make sure to show hidden drivers). Occasionally a driver looks like it "takes" but it doesn't; I've had issues where device manager reported no problems but the problem was in fact with the driver (the issues were with

Hi G! I'm sorry to be so uninformative, but your questions are a little vague; if we had a little more information we could help out more! Where are you located, and what sort of speed are you looking for? What sort of network cards do you need for your notebooks? How many people are in your organization, and what sort of features do you require
