I absolutely LOVE logmein (free version), using it on several PCs and a Mac. I typically email myself docs if I want to transfer copies between machines. For docs too large for email, yousendit, is great -- there's a free version of that as well.

I've been doing searches for several days, trying to find free or inexpensive software packages that facilitate assembling product catalogs for various uses. You might want to check out huddle.net. It offers what you're asking for, as well as a lot more. And it gives free accounts to nonprofits (at least some -- we got one).
