  • Have you greened your IT through software?

Are you using desktop power management tools, virtualization, or hosted software packages to reduce your energy use and go green(er)? Did you decide to move your old-fashioned donor database off your organization's servers and onto Salesforce? Have you virtualized a server or even desktop machine so you can do more with fewer energy-sucking boxes

  • How do you measure your web traffic? And what about privacy for users?

What tools do you use to measure your site statistics and traffic? Do you use a third-party tool or do you rely on whatever integrated tool your web host offers? • Re: Inventory and Kitchen Meal Planning Software

I don't have any experience with this directly, but I remember seeing this press release a couple of months back. They apparently launched a nonprofit fund for donating the ChefTec software to registered 501(c)(3)s. Again, no idea if it's any good or have any orgs that I could refer you to in order to check it out, but it's worth looking

  • Re: Is the used computer market going away?

Hi Wally, I think your points are well taken. As a content creator here at TechSoup, we struggle with finding that equitable balance and truly DO want to provide organizations with the information they need to make the best decisions. For anyone who is interested, you can check out the current status of compatibility with all of TechSoup's donor partners here: Is Your Third-Party Software Compatible with Windows 7? This only includes TechSoup donor partners, so it's not at all comprehensive across different software and hardware out there in the world.
