  • Re: Operating System

Hi Sandy, At this time, schools are not eligible for the Microsoft donation program available through TechSoup Stock as Microsoft has its own program for education which can be found here: www.microsoft.com/education . For more information about the Microsoft restrictions, please review the Microsoft FAQ . Autumn

  • Upgrading to Windows 7 Professional from Vista or Windows 7 Home

This question has come up a number of times in the forums so I thought it would be best to address it separately. The question of upgrading any Home editions to Professional editions is a legal licensing one. The Home editions and Professional / Business / Enterprise are two different product lines. In order to upgrade to a Professional edition, you

  • Re: Adobe

Hi Paul, I can tell you why that is happening in the shopping cart. Though your organization is eligible for the Adobe donation program, it is a very small donation program. The restrictions state "Eligible organizations may request up to a total of four individual applications or one suite application per fiscal year (July 1 to June 30)."

Hi Bob, It seems that after XP, Microsoft has discontinued the ability to do what I call "cross upgrade" (or downgrade) between the two product lines of Home and Business / Professional editions. You cannot legally downgrade or upgrade Vista Home or Windows 7 Home to any Professional or Business edition. There is a very long forum discussion

If I upgrade the XP Home to XP Professional, is the upgrade from there to Windows 7 free due to the SA Program or is there the additional $8 to upgrade to 7 Pro? If you acquire XP professional licenses

  • Re: Website organization

Hi Joe, Microsoft offers more products than any of our other partners and it can be a challenge to arrange them in an easy to navigate way. I will pass along your comments to the team who is working on our website makeover . In the meantime, my suggestion is to use our quarterly catalog available to download as a PDF. Since the catalog is quarterly

Hi Allen, There are a couple of things to discuss regarding the licensing and the options available to your organization specifically. First, your organization is currently within the second 12 month period of a two year Microsoft cycle and have so far requested 5 out of the 6 titles allowed. Now, out of the three machines that you currently have (assuming
