  • Is there something better than wordpress for this?

I need to create a private (password-protected) web space that offsite staff can log on to. The two uses of this space are 1). to upload files from the office for them to download at home (typically scanned documents in files too big to email as attachments), and 2). to keep a calendar with details (date, time, place, who's attending) of upcoming

  • Do you use CyberGrants?

I couldn't find any previous Tech Soup Forum discussion regarding this service. Database options for grantmakers are few and far between, so I'd be very interested in hearing from anyone who has worked with them (or considered it and decided not to).

  • Re: Looking for Free PDF Generator

I've been using the freeware version of PDF reDirect for over a year, and am very happy with it. I do a lot of scanning to PDF, and it allows rotation, color and quality control, and encryption. It also allows combining mutliple pdfs into one file (any pdf files, they don't have to be created in this program). You can also set it to open the

You might also contact Intuit directly and see if they offer a direct non-profit rate, and what their documentation requirements are.

  • Re: super-simple CRM (sort of) needed

Thanks for all of these suggestions. I have reviewed each one, but either the features aren't quite what I'm after, or they require too much technical ability to set up/use, or both. OfficeZilla looks very promising for our needs - I would probably use only the contact manager component and use the notes area in the individual contact record

  • super-simple CRM (sort of) needed

We are a grantmaking organization. Our small board of trustees has requested a way to access contact information for our grantees and grant applicants, with a log for each organization to which all board members could post the details of any meetings or conversations. I'd like to set up a few simple required fields for each entry so we can keep

Hi Dave, Does it also print, or is it strictly a copier?

  • RE: best all-in-one for small office?

Thanks for all your replies. I gather from them that I have overstated what I mean by "a lot" of scanning. I have to scan everything on the flatbed, one page at a time, so it feels like a lot, but we're talking under 100 pages per week. Likewise, our printing and copying needs are extremely modest - again, under 100 a week combined. So I'm thinking

  • best all-in-one for small office?

We're looking for a great all-in-one that prints, copies, faxes and scans for a one-computer office. No network, but it will need to play nicely with a phone connection for the fax that is shared with a DSL line and an answering machine. Our OS is XP, and the computer's an older Dell Dimension (P4). Of paramount importance is scanning speed
