  • RE: T1 Firewall question

Gotta agree with DWELP. I have always been a Cisco-sexual....I think I got physically sick when I installed my first M0n0wall...but a year later I have 12 of them in place and I really like the features. You can get them pre-built in a very small PIX like package for around $300 +/-. I would suggest if you do this, buy the fanless version as I have

  • RE: Cisco PIX 501 Firewall

not sure if you already got an answer or if this is too late, but you will need to flash the pix with a special firmware to reset the password. I think you can download it from Cisco? If not I have it laying around somewhere..

  • RE: Ethical Dilemma

Depends on who is doing the aduit...is it a government audit? If so I'm sure there could be some laws...I'd just say you were doing what you were told. Which is true. This is a great example of how when I'm doing IT contracting for someone else. I like to have ONE or TWO points of contacts. Let the orders come through a certian person. If

  • RE: Planning to Connect 6 sites for Payroll

I would say that you need to do with VPN tunnels if you already have DSL or highspeed in place at the "remote" sites. Just add the timeclock to the network.

Also I use ERD A LOT and I don't think it has this feature.
  • RE: Enter HDD Password

Found this somewhere on the net...supposed to be for Dell Laptops. To enter the System Setup program, press Press to go to Page 2 of the System Setup program. Use the up- or down-arrow key to highlight Disk Password. Press the left- or right-arrow key once. If you are setting or changing a password, type a password and then press . If you are disabling
  • RE: port fowarding

If your using the CLI (Command Line Interface) then you will need to use this command. Where as XX.XX.XX.XX is the PUBLIC IP and the zz.zz.zz.zz is the inside or "private" IP address. Keep in mind this is all entered on ONE line. static (inside, outside) tcp XX.XX.XX.XX 1414 zz.zz.zz.zz 1414 netmask 255.255.255.255 You will also need to add this incoming

  • RE: Finding new ISP

I know the owner of this company personally, and I must say he has his stuff together. He is so anal about the security of his servers and crap it's not even funny...but you better believe his stuff will NOT be down. His business mainly focuses on server colos for larger businesses...but they do domain hosting and all as well. When you call you

  • RE: Need suggestions to bridge sites via network.

Right off the top of my head I would say these are 2.4ghz? So many things are 2.4ghz and interfear with that frequency now days. We have about 10 Point-To-Point wireless links and they are all 5.8ghz, we have 4 on one tower and have no problems at all. I would suggest moving to something in the 5.8Ghz range, and a little higher end equipment.

  • RE: ISO

Keep in mind that people posting here asking for help, normally are not as technically inclined then others. This being the case, users don't really know how to word things. Secondly, I really didn't see anything wrong with this topics subject title. The post was about ISO files, so they aptly named it ISO
