If you look at this as a custom software project, it can become quite expensive. (I am thinking 10,000-20,000 or more) However I think you can find quite a few good options (including our own product) which provide you with a starting point - and then can be customized on your own.

When you are setting up a Google Alert, there is a set of links at the bottom. One of then is Add a news gadget for "<search terms you entered>" to your Google homepage. If you follow that link, there will be an RSS feed for the alert - which you can 'widgetize' and embed into your site.

There are many ways to do this - one simple way is to use a service like WidgetBox to display a list of your blig posts within your sites: 1) Go to your blog, find a link to its 'RSS feed' 2) Go to http://www.widgetbox.com/make/feed and convert the feed into a 'widget'. FYI - Instead of Groove consider SugarSync, it runs natively on Windows AND Mac. I have been using it for about a year, works great. Also it creates a web copy of files - which is very nice for remote access and for backup.

Another alternative for you to consider are 'hosted' forms, e.g. from wufoo.com or a similar provider. Basically they have a very nice form creator and then you can embed a snippet of HTML/Javascript into your site page - without having to do anything regarding server-side code.

You can embed .flv files in Wild Apricot - or in any kind of website. If you expect lots of people viewing your vidoes I would recommend using a specialized video hostng like vimeo (you can still embed the files anywhere)
