  • Firewire Vuln.

Gary - Thought this was right along the post you made the other day. ### Windows XP FireWire Attack Also Defeats Windows Vista Microsoft may not address the "winlockpwn" authentication bypass issue because it's not technically a vulnerability, researchers said. ### Full Article
  • RE: Vista to XP?

Don: Microsoft have just released XP Service Pack 3 so they are continuing to support XP for now... ### As an FYI, the product support expires April 2009. Microsoft Link

:Another thing, i work with individual product for a long time and i have no experience with SBS. It will be more easy for my to use SVR2k3 and Exchange07. I found that it was much easier to work with the "natural" products. The bundled SBS is great for those that are not familiar with network administration. There are a handful of options that can

  • RE: Anyone Virtualized?

Let me try and catch everything from your post. Virtualization does do better cross platform. You would first load a base OS (Linux/Windows) and then load your VMs on top of this shell using the software. Inside of the virtualization software you'll load the OS again, this time doing all of the configuration necessary. If you're backing up the

  • RE: Anyone Virtualized?

I've done virtualized servers for development. I considered doing it with a recent server migration to separate certain services, such as Web/External access on a VM. I've been fine with the Free VM Server product. There are also some cool open source tools available, such as XEN

Rémy, I would consider moving your DC to the file server/backup device. This would place the sensitive AD data on a different machine than your public web machine. I've been happy with the 2003 R2 x64 edition and Exchange 2007. Previously we had SBS 2003. My experience had been that the patches and service packs were a bit slower to the SBS. I also

  • RE: Software for Information Referral Agency

Bob - The CRM would allow you to create different classes of contacts. For example you may have staff, clients, and the outside agencies. Once the basic fields (name, address, etc...) is entered you can create the other fields you need "number of openings", "income class", "type of agency", etc... Once you've got all the information in there, you
