  • RE: Equipment to Donate

Hi guys, I'm looking for laptops right now for my nonprofit in Toronto (I've already contacted the organizations listed in the Used Hardware listings). When you posted to Craigslist, which topic did you post to? Sorry if this is a stupid question but I can't seem to tell which one is most relevant. I'd like to post a request for donations

Hello Yann and Ann45, Ann45 - thanks for your message. Please see my post to Toma. You may also want to connect with http://www.netcorps-cyberjeunes.org/ Yann - Thanks for welcoming me to TechSoup. It seems to be an invaluable resource! One thing I want to do is get the word out about TechSoup Stock to some non-profits that don't know about it.

  • RE: Password Selection Tips?

I think these are all great password suggestions. One suggestion I'd like to make from extensive information security training experience is that you should let users know why you are implementing password controls. Often times people will try do the bare minimum and end up with passwords that are very breakable to a dedicated attacker (e.g. password123
  • RE: Back up systems?

Have you considered purchasing an external harddrive? if you hunt hard enough you can find anywhere from 100 GB upwards for less than $100. This is probably the easiest way and it's a one-time cost.
  • RE: Constant DDOS attacks

A number of recent malware programs have found ways to effectively hide from most virus scanning / anti-malware tools. Once your PC has been compromised there is no sure-fire way to tell if it is ever cleaned completely except for reformatting. The longer you wait the more painful it will be! After reformatting be sure to reset any passwords on important

  • Free technology services for small non-profits

Hello all, My name is Rohit Sethi and I've started an organization called LIFT Canada.
