I'm not sure what the legalities are about you collecting the funds and then sending them to a nonprofit. How about if you ask them to set up a donation button that you can upload to your site but that they get the money automatically. If you want them to know that it is coming from your site, they can set up the donation button with a reference

I think that you can use sound very effectively. But it has to be sound that the visitor turns own by themselves. I hate going to a site that suddenly blasts something at me.
