  • Has your org implemented a content-filtering policy?

Hi all, I'm writing up a couple of FAQs on content filtering, which will include general advice and information, as well as info on filtering hardware and software. I've gotten a lot on info on the hardware and software angle, but one thing I'm still researching is tips on putting together a content-filtering policy. If your organization

  • RE: Blog-writing tips

I think Joshua offers some really useful tips in this article, but I personally disagree with tip #7, about foregoing proper grammar, punctunation, sentence structure, etc. For informal everyday bloggers, this tip might hold up, but if you're blogging on behalf of your nonprofit, my guess is that you'd want to appear as professional as possible

  • RE: What's your favorite free Web application?

Thanks for the feedback guys, You all have valid points, but the reason we chose to focus on "free" Web applications here is simply to keep the article pretty concise. This is a huge subject, and I could see an exhaustive article being cumbersome to read. Perhaps this particular article can introduce the concept of Web apps, focusing on those that are

  • RE: Non Profits using video

Marc, I wrote an article a while back that's got a few anecdotes about NPOs using online video sites to spread the word. Check it out: http://www.techsoup.org/learningcenter/internet/page5876.cfm

  • What's your favorite free Web application?

Hi everyone, TechSoup is planning an article on free Web-based applications that can be used as alternatives to desktop-based commercial products, and we're hoping to get some input from the community. For instance, maybe your organization has abandoned Microsoft Word in favor of Google Docs. Or perhaps you've discovered a free collaboration
