  • RE: nonprofit office manager

Hi Rick, There are lots of considerations depending on the size of your organization. It's possible to fine one program that will do it all, but may either be too pricey or to complex. A few questions to help figure it out. What is the annual budget and the amount of accounts payable and recievable in a given month? How many members do you have

  • Can't send emails to certain addresses

Hi all, I'm getting over my head in tech support in our office. Two staff members get messages bounced back whenever they send to certain addresses, specifically any comcast or bellsouth address. Is there a way to fix this? Gina Development Director Slow Food USA gina@slowfoodusa.org

  • RE: Moving Offices - what do I need

thanks for the help, the other discussions certainly gave me some reassurance. On the plus side, we are only a 13 workstation office (with one printer and scanner) and staying in the same building. Most of our services are hosted off site, currently. So I guess I should just work with our ISP to make sure that we can get the cables all run in the new

  • Moving Offices - what do I need

I am a little dense when it comes to anything with technology, so please excuse the newbie question. We will be moving offices shortly, andall current systems were set up before my arrival, and the paperwork is slim to none. What do I need to make sure when we actually get in the new space, we can have email and internet access? Also, this summer we

  • Time Tracking Softward

Hi, I'm trying to find a software (freeware or shareware) that will let me track the various projects/job areas. I'm trying to determine and show my boss how much time is spent on one area of a job vs the other, so I don't need anything complicated. Something that will let me timestamp with a task name, then end it and start another one

  • Microsoft Outlook Equivelint for Mac

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone knows a good equivelent of Microsoft Outlook for the Mac that's not Entourage. What I liked about Outlook that Entourage does not have is the ability to view my calender and my tasks that are due that week on the same screen. I also liked being able to view my tasks hierachically (by catagory, then due date) as well

  • RE: What Web-based event-registration tools have you tried?

As a national organization with lots of chapters doing events (and a shoestring budget) we work with Brown Paper Tickets a lot. The chapters like it because its free and easy and they don't need to go through the national office to coordinate processing of credit cards. We've had some great discussions with the staff there and I would wholeheartedly

  • RE: Donations 2.0

Hi, We have a consultant that does a lot of changes for us. I would think if someone is computer savvy enough that they can make small changes, but I would be hesitant on changing any architecture of the database without any extensive knowledge. For that reason, we actually cant edit at the layout level any of the existing forms (I don't know if

  • RE: Filemaker Donations

Don't know if this will still help but to find criteria in filemaker, hit apple-f to Find and you can enter criteria in almost any field. So lets say I wanted to do a find on donors in NY in the past 2 years. I would go to the donations page, hit apple-F and enter 1/1/2006...12/31/2007 in the date field, Gina Fiorillo Slow Food USA

  • RE: using miva merchant for donations

We use miva merchant and although I'm not too close to it, here's my impressions. We collect donations through it, as well as memberships and merchandise. It's pretty easy to update items for the stores (such as when we want a new campaign or add a new book) and it works well with our current website. Downside - can't do any reccuring
