Thank you for the helpful replies! I emailed Consolidated Graphics and will see if they're able to help. I would prefer to go this route if it saves us time and resources. Yes, I'm thinking the first part would involve PHP combined with Ajax and maybe even XML/XSL. I'm still relatively new to Ajax, but I tend to learn things pretty quickly

I'm researching a project for the non-profit I work for and would really like to get your input. I would likely be the sole developer as I'm the only IT guy here. We'd like to put something together on the web (using PHP + AJAX?) that allows our affiliates to generate their own newsletters using a selection of templates and then download

VOIP might be a good option for you. Give SunRocket.com a good look. They're very inexpensive.

Thanks! I know of a quite a few already and use them regularly, but it's so great having a good list to refer to.

I've also had a lot of problems ordering from TechSoup, but it was more of a "biased against" issue than anything. Our non-profit has been going through Consistent Computer Bargains and they've been great at providing extremely inexpensive MS software. http://www.ccbnonprofits.com/ And there's no hassle with trying to get TechSoup to accept

We ended up going with 4 GB of RAM and a lot of network storage space (SAS RAID, around 400 GB). I don't want to run into the same storage problems down the road as we're having now on our current network. We also opted for two processors. The entire server cost around $3,500 and was a great deal. Yes, DonorPerfect mainly stores DB data files

Thanks for your feedback! For some reason this forum doesn't notify me of new responses even though I have the option checked. No, we don't anticipate any new employees anytime soon. I think the main reason for examining two servers was to minimize downtime should one of them crash. But the cost probably outweighs the benefits. The quotes include

Hi everyone, My non-profit is planning to purchase new server equipment. We have 13 or so employees. A few do Photoshop and InDesign stuff while the rest do Word processing, etc. We want to house our own email (and currently already do) and files. Our goal is to collaborate better and migrate to an Exchange server with calendar sharing, etc. We want

We do use flash for movies and presentations, but not as a regular website element. I think it has a tendency to distract and add a complexity layer that turns many people off. I personally avoid many flash laden websites because they are hard to navigate.

We've used SunRocket at home for a year and a half now. There are a few intermittent issues, but overall we're very satisfied. I love how you can have voicemails emailed in WAV format as attachments. Voice quality is usually pretty good.
