Sorry, its called "Start In" not "Working Directory" I just tested it to a user's desktop and it worked. The value I put in that field was %USERPROFILE%\Desktop And it works great. My .CMD file is located at C:\mkdir.cmd

Both the products I listed are free from VMware and you can get pay-per-incident support on them. I've been using VMware products since 2000 so I'm very familiar with them. The release of VMware Server (versions 1 or 2) allow for some really interesting poking around and learning of virtualization. I believe Citrix Xen Server also has free versions
