Thanks for all your help. I had done all of these already, but even with the open sharing and simple sharing, it is requiring me to put in my user name and password. Now that I've done that, it seems to be working correctly-ish. Thanks again!

Dwelp, Thanks for the idea, but these are the steps that I have already taken. You'd think that would be it and voila! But the XP computers do not recognize the folder that is shared, cannot connect to it, and I get the error that the network place doesn't exist. I have double checked that the folder is shared and that I have the address correct

Hi all, Our office computers are all networked and up until recently were all running Windows XP Pro. One of our computers recently crashed, and was replaced with one running Vista. We have some specialized stats software that we run, and it runs through our network. I am trying to set up the network so that the program, we'll call "Stats"

Thanks for all the suggestions, but none of them have really worked for us. I was wondering if anyone could advise about the use of an external hard drive. I have no experience with them, but can they be set up in such a way that programs can be installed, etc. or are they solely for document/media storage? In response to a previous post, the laptop

As nice as it would be to be able to purchase new computers every time we want, we are a small non-profit and do not have enough room in our budget to allow that. We HAVE to make due with what we have. We've run disk clean-up and it barely frees up any space. There is too little disk space to run the deframenter (as I said in my original post).

Hi- I was wondering how to clean up space on my C drive. The laptop that I am using only has 6 GB of disk space, and currently most of it is being used up. There isn't enough free space to run the disk defragmenter, we've deleted temp. internet files, all unneccesary docs have been relocated, etc. The folder that is taking up most of the space

Unfortunately, that's not an option. I'm working in a small non-profit and we can't overhaul our entire system just because one person's computer is malfunctioning with Norton. Are there any solutions to this that do NOT involve changing software, operating systems, etc? Every other computer in this office has NAV 2007 and Windows XP

Ok, so here's another tech problem that I've never dealt with and can find no info on. I recently upgraded all the computers in my office to Norton Antivirus 2007. No problem, right? Well, one computer has refused to function correctly ever since. It will open a document once, then when you go to open any other document, it sends an error message

Thanks Don, but we're a very small non-profit, without an IT person, and we were really hoping to be able to do most of this in-house. We only have 7 employees and 10 computers! I will speak with my boss and she and I will try to determine the best course of action. Thanks for your help.

I had a question about ordering. I am told that we can only order one batch of products per year. In my office, we are currently discussing ordering Microsoft Exchange and also need to renew our Norton protection. My question is, do we need to wait until we've made a decision about Exchange to be able to order Norton? Or can we order Norton now
