  • Re: Point of sale system for nonprofit retail

It's certainly not like anything you would see in a major retail store, but DH POS is a really awesome piece of software--especially for the price: FREE!! Check it out pages.prodigy.net/daleharris/pos.htm

  • RE: Running Cat5e in Our New Office

Thanks, Dave. I will take a look at some cabinets, the only thing I'd be worried about is ventilation. It definitely should have a lock, though. Assuming we could budget for it, where would you suggest getting a "real" wiring cabinet? I took a ride to Home Depot and priced things out (comparable to online retailers) and looked at conduit. They had

Dave, This is how I picture it going then. A cabinet of some sort either with a patch panel or jacks for all of the wires (1 data/1 voice run per location) mounted near the ceiling (works best in our situation) with all of the wires running down through a conduit of sorts through the floor, in to the basement, where the wiring is left uncovered and

  • RE: Running Cat5e in Our New Office

Dave, I guess my question, assuming we decide to run most of the wiring on the surface, is it okay to run plastic type conduit straight through a wall from one room to another? I'm not totally sure how to go about doing this. Some of the telephone wiring (which will be coming at with the successful completion of this wiring) was just run through

  • RE: Who is using facebook for their professional networking?

I find Facebook to be a great tool to keep in touch with people I meet at conferences and other events because they only need to know my name to find me. It's such a clean site, which is the main reason why I like it so much.

  • Running Cat5e in Our New Office

Hi Everyone, My organization, the St. Albans Community Justice Center, just relocated right down the street to a new-to-us office space. Unfortunately, it is not currently wired for a network, which is something we need. I am debating over how to go about doing this and would like the advice of others here with some experience. The wiring could be run

  • RE: Case Management Software

Thanks Bob, apparently the search feature is cooperating now. I am looking through many of the solutions I found and will post back when I find something good. BUT if anyone knows of an open source or free option off the top of their head, please let me know. How can I get the full version of your software, Bob? Thanks!

  • Case Management Software

Hi, The non-profit I do volunteer tech work for is looking to move to some sort of database to track cases that go through it's reparative probation board. Of course, since we're a non-profit, it has to be free or close to free (unless it's really, really good :) ) We're looking for some sort of database (web-based would be easiest to

  • RE: Need to send out more emails than ISP allows.

I would go with Dave's advice. It also might just be worth calling (or emailing) your ISP and asking about the limit. They might have some suggestions that work with their servers for you. ~Michael
