Thank you dukes. You've provided very valuable feedback and I want to thank you for it. It provides me a first step forward in getting things done. As far as personnel and funding, yes, being a nonprofit we need both. Our "IT Team" isn't exactly connected. The organization has a non-centric IT structure where there's people w/ IT knowledge

Your post is encouraging. I'm trying to find a way to have training to become a part of an up and coming IT department (which is part of a developing Technology Plan). What training are you taking? What would you recommend. We are becoming a Microsoft centric organization.

All, In another post in another section, I had asked about Integration. I continue to brainstorm as ideas come along. I figured this place would be a good place to start as far as, what're the first steps to data integration and/or coordination. My situation is that there are multiple departments keeping the same time of student demographic information

To the question of whether we are using SQL Server or Access: Many of the users here are using Access, albeit, rather haphazardly because they are unaware of any database design issues such as normalization. In some cases, it becomes a spreadsheet (table) encased in Access. Many of these information on these systems

It's not open source, but for my flowchart/org chart needs (and even logic flow needs), I find that RFFlow is one of the most versatile, easy to use programs. It's $50 each for 1-4 licenses. The more licenses you purchase, the less per unit it is. Check them out at rff.com Again, this has been the EASIEST program I've had to use at a great

My organization is experiencing a growing use of databases, many of which share similar data. I would like to know what all of you out there are using for any data or application integration solutions?
