I closed my dell latitude laptop with the lid to my usb stick still inside and ruined the display. I was able to buy the complete top part of the laptop off ebay and just changed at the hinges. ABBYY Finereader is very good. I got it bundled with a fujitsu scansnap (an amazing little scanner). Anyone have any tips about purchasing Finereader as standalone software and how it works? Can you just feed it any pdf or tiff? I have use GOCR and it is nowhere near as accurate as ABBYY.

Will it only be used to run the projector therefore never running off battery? If you buy used sometimes the battery is not that good. We have had good luck with used dell latitude laptops.

Thanks Rog. A lot of ones I have not heard of that I will be checking out. One I use a lot from the list is Notepad++ . I love being able to open multiple txt files in tabs and it seems to format things much better than the normal notepad.

I have used Smoothwall and I am currently using www.ipcop.org/ . I found both to be more reliable than the cheap home use routers. They do cost more in electricity.
