I thought this article made relevant points. (and one of my favorite rants) It seems that on a daily basis I find myself asking if the person who designed the web site, appliance, tool, or other object, ever actually used the object themselves, or ever tried to clean or maintain it, etc. before it went to market - there are so many bad designs out there

All very good advice here - we have a web site with a message forum that has been doing a slow but steady build over that past 4 or so years, and I have have been the active web manager for the past 2 1/2. Our biggest challenge was a crash which deleted all of the previous posts, and we essentially had to start over. Members were pretty good about picking
