WiMAX now is where Wi-Fi was like 10 years ago. Wi-Fi works now with just about every STA (i.e. client station), and WiMAX is a total crapshoot, as things are not yet standardized. What are you looking to ultimately do? My guess is that Wi-Fi will work much better for what you need, particularly since WiMAX operates on licensed frequencies.

Not sure if anyone else has posted this yet, but Microsoft's Live Mesh service is pretty cool. I use it to link my Mac and PC boxes together.

Or, how about not doing so and being cool about Internet access? (I dunno, I'm just sayin') "OMG! But what about the childrenz!?" It's okay, the kids will be alright, and the internets will not ruin them.

While that IMAP "works", another solution is to convert Thunderbird to Outlook Express eml files and then import Outlook Express into Outlook 200x.

lol, this is one of the easiest things to do on the Cisco ASA. But how about NOT being an overcontrolling network admin? That is my advice on "where to start".

Good luck, JAWS is about as good as it gets, and it costs a fortune. (The open source versions out there aren't that great, from what I've heard from a friend of mine who is blind.)

Ditto on what Chris said. If the Symantec product doesn't say "corporate on it", seriously consider ditching it.
