  • RE: Windows Installer CleanUp Utility

thank you chris and dave! i may need to emulate dave's approach but was hoping to avoid reinstalling the original image or creating a new one (with sp3 and other patches). i have thought about an infection. we are using symantec client security and spybot s+d, and our e-mail host flags spam which our users are trained not to open. and even though

  • RE: My favorite backup solution is SyncBack

natrixgli is quite right about Synback SE and Pro. The freeware version of Syncback is just that. It and several other freeware products may be downloaded from the 2BrightSparks freeware page which clearly states, "Our freeware is free for personal, educational, charity, government, and commercial use." http://www.2brightsparks.com/freeware/freeware

  • RE: imaging desktops

I have never found a reasonably priced product that would easily backup or image the system/application partition of a machine running SBS 2003. Would any of those mentioned in this thread serve that function? Thank you. JMR

  • RE: Downsides of Message Boards?

Thank you Dave and mkirros for those useful insights. We can certainly create a "user agreement" but I wonder if you have thoughts on deploying it. Does it work to have a "click to agree and proceed" button similar to that used by many software EULAs or is it better or even sufficient to obtain a signature on paper at the time of registration. I have

  • Downsides of Message Boards?

This is not strictly a technology question but, with the collective experience of this membership, I am hoping for some tips. We are considering a password-protected message board for staff and ~150 volunteers. Our objectives are to improve communication and volunteer retention. We began with a survey and received a high level of enthusiastic responses

  • RE: SAV CE 10.2 or NIS 2007 as replacement for SCS 3.0

Thank you. Do you know whether or not SAV 10.2 will work with the SCS 3.0 console? Thanks again. JMR
  • SAV CE 10.2 or NIS 2007 as replacement for SCS 3.0

Hello, We are running Symantec Client Security 3.0 on 2 servers and 17 workstations in two locations. TSS has been trying to gain access for us to the security patch for SCS3.1 and SAV10.1 discussed in another thread. If that doesn't pan out, I wonder if it would be possible to install SAV10.2 over SCS3.0 and to continue to use the management console
