in norwark, you might be able to get FIOS. I'm not sure how they will treat your business as. resident or business. if they treat it as business, it will cost more. if it as business, the cheapest I can think of is DRY DSL from dslextreme.com. then get VOIP like vonage. most notebook already has build in network port as well as wifi.

SUN is back. but with older server. well, something is better than nothing.. thank again. btw, SUN restriction still said 5 per year. but 3 is a new limit.

geekette: I do see your pain. It's depend who is denied the request. CEO or CIO?? for me, CIO is on my side and we use every problem and blame on to old server to justify the replacement. because down server = user not able to do the work = lost time and money.

Do you know when SUN server will be in stock again??

yes, make sure it's same version(xp,2000, NT, 98, etc.). and also most likely you will need OEM version. for example: XP have retail, OEM, Corp version. each key can't be interchange (CORP key or Retail Key will not work on OEM CD)

-
I believe you can format it to windows server.
-
I think you could. when you creat image, you will have option to create image with expand drive.(single partition only)

for me, minimum is 5 yrs. since I buy server with 5 yrs warranty anyway. after that, I will keep using it until it break. then replace it. Virtualization is great idea but make sure your server has enough power/memory/storage to handle it. you don't want to host 10 VM with 1 NIC card. You can start with Xenserver or vmware ESXi (both free)
