  • Re: Raisers Edge Software

I worked in the Foundation office at the local university and we invested in Raisers Edge. It was quite costly then but extremely powerful. I was lucky enough to get training on it and then was able to fully realize the potential it had to offer. If you have an organization which can afford the software and the high support fees it's good. The nonprofit

Have you considered Microsoft Office Live? It is quite affordable and might be just what you are looking for.

  • RE: Need InDesign CS2

The software through eDirect is legal software and can be activated and registered. The difference is that it is the education version, but the education versions are fully function programs with documentation. I've ordered through them for a number of years for my personal, as well as our nonprofit, business. There has never been any problem with

  • RE: Pagemaker 7.0 vs. Indesign

InDesign can ready PageMaker files. However, there may be some font issues [which can generally be easily fixed] as well as perhaps some tracking issues. These are more common if you're converting from a PC to a Mac [or the other way around] so if you're staying with the same platform you shouldn't experience many issues, especially with

  • RE: Need InDesign CS2

If you're using ID CS you won't be able to read CS2 files. You can't "read up" but you can "read down". I'm not sure if you have the option of saving as an earlier version [legacy file] in CS2. While it may not be a perfect solution, you could check out InDesign CS2 at: www.edirectsoftware.com which is available for about $240. This

  • RE: adobe

You can open AI files with Photoshop, but you will lose the vector capabilities. You will, however, be able to change colors and such in photoshop, as well as add any actions or layer options to the images. You may want to consider Creative Suite from Adobe which includes Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc. The cost is higher, but if compared to

  • RE: Win/Mac Adobe Creative Suite Compatibility

Ellen, I have Adobe CS programs on my PC at home and I use the CS programs on my Mac at work. I have interchanged the files from one to the other. The main problem I have encountered is some of my PC fonts aren't available on my Mac and the reverse is true from Mac to PC. Other than that I don't really have many problems. I would, however, suggest

  • RE: Blackbaud and deleting a description from a field!

Are you doing this through the supervisor or administrator or through your own login? It's been awhile since I worked with BB, but I'd do a query the description that you are trying to find. You should then be able to delete the description from those records and remove it. I know that it has everything to do with "rights" and if you have rights

  • RE: Pagemaker Deals

First ask yourself if you truly need graphic design software. If you're doing all of your own marketing pieces and other types of things, then you probably do. If you're only doing an occassional piece can you get by with MS Publisher? If you need Adobe, go to www.pricegrabber.com and search under software. I found PM 7.0 listed for $370. You

Have you considered assigning a category to them and then tracking through your journal entries? I've done this with event planning and so I can sort by a specific event and all my journal entries are there. Just a thought.
