I have done a dozen or more GiftWorks implementations. My advice: First, clean up your data and make sure everything is in standard format. GiftWorks for example, will not import phone numbers without area codes or Zip codes that are not either 5 or 5 + 4 format. Make copies of your data along the way as you do cleanup so that you can always go back...

Here are some candid comments about Giftworks that I observed and I am also responding to this thread and this post in particular: "I found Giftworks to be an overpriced database tool with a poor graphic user interface and a lot of technical bugs. I have Giftworks software but I don't use it and I've removed it from my pc entirely. I use a MS...

This is likely a network permissions issue. Also, you should not install GiftWorks on the server. Instead, install it on the computers you'll be using, and when you create the database do it on the network drive and point each GiftWorks client to that same location. That location needs to have appropriate permissions set. For more info, please go...

Hi, I am not personally familiar with GiftWorks, but do have some experience with donor managment software in multi user mode. First, check with GiftWorks. They should definitely be able to tell you if you are pushing the envelope with the number of donor records you have. Also, they should be able to tell you the same about running it in multi user...

All three systems have been discussed here frequently. Click here for some discussions of GiftWorks. Take into account the age of some of these comments -- any problems they mention may have been fixed (ask the GiftWorks folks or other references if you see something that concerns you). Also, your mileage may vary. That's true of any database. Just...

Cindy, GiftWorks is farily new on the market, so there aren't many reviews yet. Before choosing a donor database, I recommend browsing this thread. It's about Raiser's Edge, but talks about lots of other databases, and how to compare them. If you decide to go with GiftWorks, it is available for less than retail through TechSoup Stock. Here's...
