I am a long time volunteer moderator in the TechSoup forums. I began posting here in 2002, and after a few years began working as a moderator in the Introduce Yourself forum. Later I began to share in the moderation of the Technology for Fundraising forum. They say the best way to learn is to teach, and over the years I have enjoyed learning a great deal about non-profits and technology through my involvement in the TechSoup forums.
I am the Social Media Director at FundRaiser Software. In that role, I publish two online newsletters, administer a Facebook page, and write extensively for the FundRaiser website, in particular case studies on using donor management software. I've learned most of what I know about donor management from talking to users about their successes in using donor management software. Here in the TechSoup forums, I tend to answer questions about donor management software, as well as online communications and marketing.
In my life outside of the non-profit technology world, I am strongly identified with alternative healing. In the last few years, I've been happy that the non-profit technology work and 'my other life' have overlapped more. I now administer two more Facebook pages and volunteer with local groups to help them implement donor management software, and more effective communications. That work feeds back too, into my volunteer work here at TechSoup, as it helps me understand more of the challenges facing non-profits.
