I have been associated with TechSoup Global since the 1990s, when it was called CompuMentor: first I was a client, then the volunteer moderator of the Volunteers & Technology branch of the TechSoup community forum (now folded into the Digital Engagement branch), and frequent participant in various TS online activities and events, and in 2011, I filled in as TechSoup community forum manager for several months. In March 2012, I returned to that role and have remained in it ever since!
In January 2014, my book The Last Virtual Volunteering Guidebook was released. It's available as an e-book or a traditional paperback.
Software I can advise on (but only from a user's perspective): OpenOffice, NeoOffice, FOSS (especially for Apple Macintosh), Volunteer Management Software, Google Docs, YahooGroups, Google Calendar, Drop Box, and FileMaker Pro.
Follow me on Twitter at @jcravens42 - I tweet about nonprofits / NGOs, volunteers / volunteering, humanitarian / development

More information about me (probably way more than you really want to know) is available at my Coyote Communications web site.
