I started out as an accidental techie at a nonprofit. Back then I was an Americorps member with the Northwest Service Academy in Trout Lake, Washington. During the long winters I had to find a way to occupy myself, so I taught myself how to make web pages.
Since then I have been a PC tech, a webmaster, a trainer, and an IT administrator--all for nonprofits. My connection to the service world continues today through my volunteer work for the Bay Area Chapter of the American Red Cross and for Compumentor.
In my professional life, I administer computer networks for nonprofits and commercial firms in San Francisco.
