Is there a Mac virus that disrupts printing function?

We have not been able to print from our MacG3 to HP6mp for about 6 weeks.  Our usual volunteer finally determined that the OS is<:LINEBREAK:>corrupted.  The odd thing is that I took a disk to a partner nonprofit<:LINEBREAK:>to print out a file.  Three days latter, they were getting the same<:LINEBREAK:>print error messages, and were unable to print from their Mac to their<:LINEBREAK:>printer.  Question:  Is there a virus out there that affects Macs that<:LINEBREAK:>corrups the OS and printing functions=?  Note:  we share the same<:LINEBREAK:>volunteer, so something he did or downloaded could be the culprit also.<:LINEBREAK:><:LINEBREAK:>So far, phone-in tech support and our volunteer think we need to rebuild the OS, etc. Any other options? How can we prevent it from happening again?<:LINEBREAK:><:LINEBREAK:>Rebecca Gee<:LINEBREAK:>Women in the Director's Chair<:LINEBREAK:>Chicago, Illinois<:LINEBREAK:>www.widc.org<:LINEBREAK:>rgee@widc.org<:LINEBREAK:>773.907.0610

Hi Rebecca,<:LINEBREAK:><:LINEBREAK:>Because your posting asks a hardware question rather than one about open source software, I have moved it to The Hardware Forum. The host of that message board will be responding to you, so please look for an answer there. Thanks for your interest in TechSoup.<:LINEBREAK:><:LINEBREAK:>Best,<:LINEBREAK:><:LINEBREAK:>Sarah Hawkins<:LINEBREAK:>Community Intern
