Sage Fundraising 50 "Change of Address" Help

08-27-2009 11:25 AM

Hello, I'm new to this board, and I need help on a SAGE-related problem.

At my job, my boss and I are trying to import some "change of address" information onto SAGE in order to keep the Constituents cards up to date. However, despite having one valid row, we keep getting an "Import Failed" message that says that there's no valid rows to import. As a result, the new addresses are not imported onto SAGE, and the cards that need to have their information changed still has its old information.

The information of what we're currently doing is as follows:

  • File Delimiter: Comma
  • Import file has a header row
  • Replace Existing Card: Addresses by Address Type checked
  • Update Existing Card: All fields checked
  • Fields that are dragged into their desired field: ID, Address 1, Address 2, Address 3, City, State, and Zip Code

Can anybody give me and my boss some help as to what we're doing wrong when it comes to this import task?

Hi jklemm,

I don't have an answer for you, unfortunately. I wonder if you have contacted Sage tech support?

Best wishes,

Sasha

Unfortunately, SAGE will not give us tech support because we don't have a customer support plan with the company.

Dear Jklemm1,

We're trying to find someone at Sage who can help, but they don't normally do that for free.  You might have to wait for a TechSoup member to volunteer, which can require patience.

But you really should get back on paid support.  Running a complex piece of software without technical support is gambling with your organization's future.  Think of it like fire and theft insurance.  If something goes seriously wrong, you can't just wait for a volunteer.
