Site improvements that require Adobe Flash

08-17-2009 11:52 AM

Hello!  My name is Wil and I'm the president of a small non profit company I founded 4 years ago called Ujima Learning Solutions.  We're in San Bernardino, CA (about an hour east of Los Angeles).

We run a Saturday Academy, which gives predominately low-income, high-risk middle and high school students free math tutoring, African American history and English enrichment courses, and other courses in college readiness, character education, health, and service learning.  We gave 4 of our hardest-working students a total of $1,700 in scholarships this past year.

We have a website at www.ujimalearning.org.  I am very much interested in learning how to maintain and update it myself, in an effort to cut costs (we have a 4-figure budget that currently has 3 figures in it).  However, the site uses Adobe Flash, which I neither own or know how to operate.  If you or someone you know would be willing to help us out by making some updates to the site we'd greatly appreciate it.

Thank you!

P.S., Once TS has approved my application I will definitely see if I can get a donated or discounted version of Flash.

Hi Wil!  Welcome to TechSoup.  If your application is approved, then you can get some Adobe products at a deep discount if your organization fits in Adobe's restrictions.  Best of luck.  :)

I've moved your post from Site Improvements over to Web Building as I suspect you'll get the best answers to your topic there.

Will,

You might want to check out www.w3schools.com. They offer a ton of free tutorials on website building, including Flash.

Hope that helps!
