Hi, my name is Ryan Jaynes. I am the IT Director at The Kitchen, Inc., a non-profit based in Springfield, MO. Our web address is www.thekitcheninc.org.
I was looking on the TechSoup site the other day and ran across the listing for Symantec's Backup Exec 12.5. Product ID - G-43455
Here is part of the description for the product that I have a question about:
The version of Backup Exec available through TechSoup is the Not for Resale (NFR) version and includes all of the available agents and options that enhance and extend platform and feature support for Backup Exec. You do not need to purchase these items separately. These agents and options can be used to improve backup data integrity, reduce backup windows, and extend protection to desktops and laptops as well as to other servers (such as Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft SQL server, UNIX and Linux servers, and virtual environments like VMware and Microsoft Virtual Servers). An unlimited number of these agents can be used within your network, allowing for multiple instances of agents to protect several servers. For a list of all Backup Exec agents and options, see the Backup Exec product page.
Does this mean that if you request a donation of this software that you can also use the "agents" that allow you to backup things like Exchange and Linux servers without purchasing them separately? This would allow me to backup my entire system with one product. I just want to be sure because like everyone else these days we do not have any money to waste.
Thank you for your help!
Ryan
