Hi! I'm Justine and I'm wondering about donor management software.

We are trying to choose a software for a small grant-making organization that will allow customization for reporting by varied criteria and are thinking of customizing Microsoft Access instead of using one of the off-the-shelf databases or online systems. I've read articles from this site but am wondering if anyone has any advice for customizing Access or on an online system that works particularly well. Thanks!

Speaking as someone who works for a donor managment software company, we often hear of customers who find that customizing Access takes a lot of time, and then doesn't include all the things that they want. A good off the shelf product has hopeful had the kinks worked out of it by previous users.
