I'd like to let the Tech Soup community know about a one-day Introduction to Drupal Course that Urban Insight is offering. Drupal (pronounced /'dru-pal/) is a popular, flexible, free and open source web content management system. It is used to power many different types of websites, ranging from small personal blogs to large corporate, entertainment and political sites.
This one-day, hands-on course is targeted toward team leaders/project managers who will need to work with Drupal, or web developers who have not yet made the transition from Dreamweaver (or equivalent software) to a web content management system, and need a gentle introduction.
Introduction to Drupal Course
Los Angeles, CA
Saturday, June 20, 2009 9am - 5pm PDT
$299 until May 22, $349 after May 22, 2009
Because Drupal is so flexible and powerful, it can sometimes be confusing to new users. This course is intended for individuals who have basic familiarity with building a web page or blogging; but no programming experience is assumed or necessary.
This hands-on, instructor-led course will gently introduce you to Drupal as we build a neighborhood association website. The course is divided into a series of 30-minute topics. For each topic, the instructor will introduce the concept, and then you will have hands-on practice implementing what you just learned by creating your own Drupal website.
