On Wednesday, May 13, I will interview Lindsay Bealko and Sarah Hiller from Microsoft Community Affairs, who will show us around the resources available online for training and support, including the NGO Connection site and Microsoft Office Online tutorials and templates. They will also discuss the online tools that allow you to access and use the Software Assurance benefits that come with your donation. Software Assurance benefits include free elearning modules and the opportunity to upgrade to new software versions within two years of your donation.

The webinar is at 10 a.m. Pacific, 11 a.m. Mountain, 12 p.m. Central and 1 p.m. Eastern. Sign up for the live webinar here. Space is limited!

Thanks for sharing that link to the nonprofit-friendly templates!

Also wanted to note that the NGO Connection web site discussed on webinar is available in 7 different languages for organizations in other countries.  Unfortunately, Japanese is not one of them :(, but it is available in Spanish, French, German, Russian, and Arabic.

I recently joined our public library to TechSoup and watched the recorded webinar today. I had a few questions:

1) I noticed a restriction was that Microsoft software was for use on the public computers only unless the staff computers are on the same network. Our staff computers are on the same network as the public computers but are separate PC's. Is that acceptable to use the software on both the public and staff PC's as long as we don't go over 50 licenses?

2) Our public library uses purchase orders but I noticed the only forms of payment are credit cards. Does TechSoup offer purchase orders as another payment method?

3) Public libraries don't seem to fall under the Microsoft NGO eligibility. What Microsoft program do non-501(c)(3) public libraries fall under? We're also looking to setup a training lab for patrons and I'd like to do it like the Microsoft IT Academy but public libraries aren't supported under that program. Does Microsoft offer something similar for public libraries?

Thank you.

Very informative presentation; thanks.

I tried to access the e-learning resource with very limited success. Has anyone actually gone through this process and if so what are the steps? The steps on the MS website does not correspond to what I'm seeing.....

Thx.

Dan.
