Foundations who specifically support technology for non-profits?

Hi,

I am looking for Foundations that specifically fund technology for non-profits. Couldn't find that much at the Foundation Center. Any ideas? (a large component of our website is providing free reports for download on ways to address/shift/change the social, environmental, and economic components of globalization) We need a web overhaul, new database...

Thank you!

Hi, Alexis,

First, best of luck with your search. The work you are doing sounds valuable.

TechSoup as a rule isn't up on grants and foundations. Our work has to do with advizing nonprofits on technology use, Only accidentally do we have info on fundraising itself. However, I do know such foundations are out there. I've run across them in blog posts related to TechSoup. You might even try a Google search that gets at 'TechSoup similar' foundations. I tried that one, and didn't come up with a lot so you might need to get more creative than that, but I know for a fact that I once read a blog post about a person who was writing a grant to set up a program similar to TechSoup in France. They mentioned TechSoup as model in the grant. I don't recall who they were making the grant proposal to.

I did come upon a site that was listed in a google search for grants technology:

GrantStation.com

I can't say anything more about them as I have no experience of what they do.

To continue your search, I'd suggest you try other sites that specialize in info on fundraising, for instance

Idealist

Best wishes,

Sasha
