Often, when you do an online search on a topic, the first page that comes up in a search tool such as Google is Wikipedia (at least for search phrases in English and German). Also, many people go straight to Wikipedia to get a briefing about a particular topic before they look for more detailed information.
That's why, IMO, it's so important that pages on Wikipedia relating to nonprofit organizations, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), volunteering/volunteerism, etc. are robust, with accurate information from a variety of knowledgeable people.
