Using 802-11N as AP for large outdoor area

Several years back I installed an 802.11g wireless in an outdoor area for multiple user access. I mounted the unit at the ceiling of the second floor of the building and ran a short pigtail to a 4 foot, high gain antenna at the outside corner of the building.

Now with 802.11n available, with higher range, I am wondering how to upgrade this installation to make use of two or three active antennas. Right now there are some blind spots, where the signal does not reach, due to objects inbetween. So I am thinking of adding a second antenna and the opposite corner of the building, with same type of antenna and upgrading the AP to 802.11n - likely the pre-N version 2.

Anyone have experience with anything like this who could offer suggestions?
