Our organization is a no kill animal rescue. We have a hotline that various volunteers answer by shifts. We're looking for software (preferebly web based but if not then server based) that the volunteer can use to take down the call information and then send the details (via email preferably) to the volunteer who handles that area. We'd like to use the software to keep track of that kind of help calls we're getting, etc. with some basic reports. Possibly some customer service or business contact management software would work, but we can't seem to find something to meet our needs. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you,

There are several free "trouble ticket" support applications that may do what you want them to, and they would have the advantage of being web-based, so they could be accessed by your staff over the Internet. Here are some that may come with my hosting account under Fantastico like they do with mine:
osTicket - osticket.com
PHP Support Tickets - phpsupporttickets.com
Support Logic Helpdesk - support-logic.com
Support Services Manager - sheddnet.net
Depending on what you need one of these may provide what you need.
I've also seen an open source animal shelter program available for free download at http://sourceforge.net/projects/sheltermanager/.
Perhaps this software has something you can use as well.
