Has anybody used Microsoft SharePoint to manage grants from application through reporting? Like a project management tool for online collaboration for fundraising. Thanks.

Hi there--
Sharepoint comes up quite a bit in our discussions here on TechSoup. I recommend searching the forums for "sharepoint" so you can see some past conversations. Are you considering any other kind of grant management packages or is there a reason you're thinking of trying to use Sharepoint in particular?
Best,
Megan

I'm a beginner to SharePoint and have begun working with our IS department in training our Development Office. We're "dabbling" at this point, but from what I've already begun playing with - SharePoint has some great potential for our Grant Writer and Development Director - not in the way of online collaboration for fundraising, but for Grant tracking/timelines as well as making available information to those not in the grant writing process within our organization.

Marc and Megan,
Thank you for your responses. I'm interested in SharePoint because we're already using it for some functions and it seemed like it could be adapted for development. Marc, you've given me an encouraging nudge to use this for the "project management" side of grant writing, as well as the institutional library.
