SharePoint, Nonprofits and E-Learning

Hey everyone,

I wanted to alert you to a new site I'm establishing to help nonprofits with their challenge of developing Microsoft Sharepoint portals, with a specific focus on how Sharepoint can support organizational e-learning.

This site has arisen from our own nonprofit challenges developing with Sharepoint technologies, and is meant as a knowledge repository and conversation space for those of us who have to design, develop, fund and manage strategic Sharepoint systems. Similar to many of us, our IT staff is small and would benefit from our collective resources.

I've just deployed the site, and so it's design rough; but all your feedback and contributions are welcome. Since this is a common challenge to many of us, I suspect the resource will be well received and perhaps, a helpful cost-saving device.

And of course, importantly, this is in NO WAY affiliated with Microsoft or other commercial enterprises!

Site is at: http://www.sp4np.org .

Cheers,
--Dave

Hi Dave--

Thanks for sharing the site with us--and what a great approach for attempting to share information to solve many shared concerns/challenges. Since so many folks are the "accidental techies" at their organizations, it can be a huge time saver to see how others have through trial and error effectively used these technologies.

Best,

Megan

Great to hear! We bought MOSS 2007 and I plan to deploy it in early 2008 - once I buy a server for it - and have been trolling for info and resources. It's good to hear about e-learning from the non-profit angle. I'll certainly check it out.
