Uninstall Office 2003 from dead computer

09-26-2007 2:50 PM

My desktop died with Office 2003 installed. I'd ike to install it on my new notebook, but I get a message saying I've made the maximum installs. How do I let Microsoft know I'm not using Office 2003 on my desktop anymore so I can installit on my notebook?

Many thanks!!!

Depending on the type of licensing that came with your Office 2003, you need to speak with Microsoft Product Activation representative and explain to them that you are trying to reinstall the software from the dead computer to your new notebook.

If you call Microsoft at 1800-426-9400, they will be able to give you a product activation center phone number.

If the MS Office 2003 came preinstalled on your dead computer from computer maker, they may give you a hard time.
They will walk you through activating the product on your notebook. Speak with a person at the Microsoft Product Activation center instead of going through the automated system.

This has always worked for me.
