Tired of getting prompted with why Windows 2003 shut down? Here's my solution:
Start->run->gpedit.msc->

Expand Computer Configuration, select System. In the right hand pane, set these two options to disabled:

(1) "Display Shutdown Event Tracker"
(2) "Activate Shutdown Event Tracker System State Data Feature"

But then where would you type the "reboot after patches installation" message?

No Dave, the box he is referring to is where you type "Cuz The Server Was Unresponsive, Of Course"
