Purchasing FR database-- what about Sage?

Hi,

I work for a non-profit that currently only has about 1,000 donor records. We're not crazy about eTapestry, which we have, and are looking to move to something else? Anyone have any experience with Sage? I'm also open to other suggestions. Thanks!

Norah,

Which Sage product are you considering? They sell 4 very different donor databases.

Whichever system you're considering, try searching for it by name on TechSoup (if you're looking for Sage 50, search for Paradigm as well). Also, check out
TechSoup's articles on selecting a donor database.

Hi Robert,

I'm looking at Sage 50, formerly Paradigm. The info on TechSoup has been great, but I'd love to hear from anyone with real life experience with Sage 50.

Thanks,

Nora

Nora,

As a partner with Sage (for the Fundraising 50 product), we have many clients that are currently using the FR50 product and welcome conversations. Is there a specific type of organziation that you would like to speak with? You can email me offline and I am happy to provide you with contact information for FR50 clients. Email - cthompson@capitalbusiness.net or toll free at 888-366-7527 ext 28. Best wishes as you equip your organization with the needed tools to enable you to RAISE MORE FUNDS!!

Hi Nora,

We are also in the market for a new database package, and I was wondering if we could chat offline about your experiences.

Thank you,

Nora,

We use Sage FR50 here and I would recommend it, but I have to say I very limited experience with other databases. It's very easy to get around, the learning curve is small and it produces good reporting. It's also easy to import data and we haven't had any major problems/glitches.
