Can anyone recomend or know of a grant database software? We need to keep track of the grants we distribute as well as follow up on the researcher.

Andrew.

What's wrong with an Access database or Excel?
I"m a great believer in learning to use the tools you already have. Assuming you have Microsoft Office.

Excel is often too basic for a nonprofits needs, and Access, for most people I work with, is VERY hard to use to design one's own database.

There are some terrific packages out there, some even based in Access. I don't have a list of grants databases, but I do have a list of volunteer management databases that include functions for grants management. The list is here.

The organization I work for, WESTAF, has two grant making software packages called CultureGrants Online(tm). The basic package will serve the needs of 90% of all grant making agencies and is reasonably priced. The custom package can be quite expensive (but still very reasonable for a customized database) but allows for all sorts of amazing features.

Both systems allow applicants to submit applications online and fill out final reports once the activity has been completed. Both also allow the grants manager to follow the life cycle of the grant including building panel books, generating reports, and funding grants.
