Not being an IT professional, am having a bit of a problem with Symantec Ghost 8.0. The console recognizes the client, but when trying to clone the client to the console over a network - the client only recognizes the local drive. Think I'm messing up one of the commands - any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Are you using a "mapped drive" boot disk with Ghost? Or put another way, how are you attempting to find the network location you are looking for?
At my last job, when I was a lowly intern, I used to spend hours and hours on Ghost. I love that program.
If my memory serves me correctly, you have to map the network drives first. I seem to remember us having a boot disk that would start the ghost program. In that disk somewhere, we had a simple net use script that mapped drives. We used something like:
net use y: \\server\bin\ghostimages\
I suspect the Ghost manual has quite a bit to say on this subject. You best bet is to read around in there, especially the sections on creating the boot disks and loading images from a network share.
