I am currently implementing Drupal sites for several local non profits. And was wondering how many Drupal members and users we have here on the forums that are actively participating.
I am going to be doing a drupal conference of sorts in the fall to work on modules for the NPO sector. I will have an online component and it will be free (of course.)
Cheers,
Silona

Hi -
I'm a Drupal developer working mostly with nonprofit groups.
I'm around the boards every once in awhile.

Silona,
I'm a total Drupalhead and can be found usually in the open source and emerging technology forums here.
I imagine there are many Drupal oriented folks here on the TechSoup message boards as I see familiar names on the CivicSpace and CiviCRM mailing lists.
You might considering adding yourself to a Drupal Group (groups.drupal.org) as I'm sure you'll find many like minded folks there too.

In addition, you may want to attend a local Drupal meetup meeting:

Good point Susan. Actually most of the events get posted on Drupal.org. There are 60 meetup groups on groups.drupal.org and only one on meetup.com.
But if more were on meetup and upcoming, I'm sure we would attract more people into the community ;)
Geographic interest groups include the Bay Area, Seattle, Belgium, Mexico, Las Vegas, etc. and are listed here:

Keep in mind that an open source community is a pretty friendly and welcoming place... but you need to join the community where it exists. For Drupal at least, this means going to drupal.org, even though it is sometimes hard to find your way around.

Hey Folks,
I am a new member of the Drupal Community, and a long Time member of the open source community, specifically providing open source solutions for nonprofits.
I am currently working here at TechSoup, evaluating the
use of Drupal in our IT infrastructure and have had a great experience thus far working with members of the community.
I am interested in hearing more about the conference this fall, where I understand many developers will be convening to create functionality for the NPO sector.
Also, anyone have any experience with the Forums modules? I am curious if you have opinions on any of them, and are familiar with the requirements they support?
Cheers!
Colleen
Howdy,
I've been involved in the deployment, hosting, and/or maintenance of of a number of web sites that use content management software. My platform of choice is
Plone, but I've started to take a serious look at Drupal since I began working at CompuMentor a couple of months ago. I can see why people are so excited about it. :)

I'm currently looking into using Drupal for our member community. We are located in San Francisco.
